Here are the top 3 stories in Scottsdale today:
- Roadrunner on McDowell, a 356-unit multifamily complex in Scottsdale, sold for $193.5 million, more than $.5 million per unit. That price is record-breaking! According to AZ Big Media, "The property was built to attract a top-tier resident profile of high-wage earning professionals supported by 15,500-plus businesses within a 10-mile radius and Scottsdale's outstanding citywide demographics. Renter demand for South Scottsdale apartments has led to strong operational fundamentals, and the imbalance of supply and demand is driving outsized forecasted rent growth," said Steve Gebing, representing the Institution Property Advisors. (AZ Big Media)
- "The whole thing is being able to restore a little dignity... if someone joins this program, we're able to assist them with all sorts of different community resources," Jussane Goodman, director of community engagement with the Phoenix Rescue Mission, said. That's how Goodman summarized a program that employs homeless men and women in maintenance roles around the city in both the public and private sector on a day-by-day basis. The $12 an hour, five hours a day job comes with connections and support that allow workers to take steps away from homelessness. (12news.com KPNX)
