SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Old Town Scottsdale businesses could soon have more money to spend on advertising — if they act fast.
The city's Tourism & Events Department has launched a Matching Marketing Program, offering dollar-for-dollar funding to help Old Town businesses promote leisure tourism.
Individual businesses can receive up to $5,000, while groups of businesses applying jointly are eligible for up to $20,000 for a shared campaign.
"The city of Scottsdale is proud to support our local economy by offering this opportunity to Old Town businesses," City Manager Greg Caton said. "By contributing dollar-for-dollar matching funds to Old Town businesses, we can help them maximize their marketing investment and increase promotional opportunities."
To qualify, a business must be located in Old Town or be part of an Old Town business association. Eligible marketing expenses include traditional advertising, social media, digital marketing, outdoor advertising and printing or mailing costs for promotional materials.
There is a catch: any funding awarded must be used for marketing campaigns that wrap up before the city's fiscal year ends June 30, 2026, leaving businesses a narrow window to apply, plan and execute a campaign.
The city has not released application deadlines or a review timeline.
