The first event is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, July 17, at McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic & Fitness Center. A second sunset swim will be held 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Eldorado Aquatic & Fitness Center, according to the City of Scottsdale’s aquatics program.

The city is encouraging residents to enjoy an evening in the water while watching the sunset, describing the events as a chance to combine swimming with waterpark activities during the summer heat.

The sunset swims are part of Scottsdale’s larger aquatics lineup, which includes swim lessons, lap swimming, water exercise classes and seasonal waterpark access. Registration for classes and programs is available through the city’s recreation website.

Eldorado Aquatic & Fitness Center features 13 short-course lap lanes, diving boards, large water slides, a zero-depth entry area, a play pool and a water playground. The facility also offers reservable areas for birthday parties, group events, private rentals and commercial lane rentals.

McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatic & Fitness Center includes 13 short-course lap lanes, diving boards, a lazy river, a zero-depth entry play pool, water features and a spray pad. The facility also offers reservable spaces, including Barbecue Bay, Party Island and Party Place.

Visitors should note that the McDowell Mountain Ranch waterslide will be closed for the entire summer while the city completes a structure replacement project.

Admission prices vary by location. At McDowell Mountain Ranch, waterpark admission is $7 for resident adults and $5 for resident children, while non-resident rates are $10 for adults and $7 for children.

Family passes at Eldorado, Cactus and Chaparral aquatic centers cost $280 for residents and $400 for non-residents. Family passes at McDowell Mountain Ranch are $480 for residents and $680 for non-residents.
