SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Looking for a way to beat the heat this weekend?
McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park is turning into a splash-filled playground for its annual Slide the Rails event on Saturday.
From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., families can cool off with giant inflatable water slides, splash zones, a foam pit, water balloon games and other water attractions throughout the park.
A $10 wristband includes unlimited access to all water activities, plus unlimited rides on the park's train and carousel during the event.
Children ages 2 and younger are admitted free, officials said,
Organizers recommend bringing swimsuits, towels and sunscreen. Wristbands are available now, but they must be picked up in person at Stillman Station, as advance online pickup is not available.
Families can also grab a bite to eat during the event. Food vendors include Kade's Deja Brew, serving coffee and muffins, and Pop Stroke, offering American fare.
McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, a 30-acre Scottsdale attraction, features a railroad museum, historic locomotives, model railroad exhibits and train rides, making it one of the city's most popular family destinations year-round.
