SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Scottsdale is turning 75, and the city is celebrating with a throwback night that will take residents through seven decades of music, movies, trends and memories.
Scottsdale Parks and Rec Rewind is set for 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 19 at Scottsdale Civic Center. The free event will combine live entertainment, family activities and a look back at Scottsdale from the 1950s to today.
Whether you have fond memories of a favorite decade or are still learning about Scottsdale's history, organizers say there will be something for everyone.
The evening will feature a DJ dance party with music from every decade, along with live music, a retro arcade and miniature golf.
Guests can also stop by decade-inspired craft stations, interactive photo opportunities and the "Scottsdale Through the Decades" historic exhibit.
There will be plenty for younger attendees, too, including face painting and family-friendly activities.
Local food vendors will be on hand, and a cocktail garden will offer an option for adults looking to make an evening of it.
The celebration is built around the theme "75 Years. 7 Decades. One Scottsdale." Organizers are inviting residents to bring friends and family and spend the evening revisiting the people, places and moments that have shaped the city.
The event is free and open to the public and runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Sept. 19 at Scottsdale Civic Center.
