Here are the top 3 stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. Vickie Meyers may have been confused about her flight's departure time, and she was allegedly under the influence when the 53-year-old meandered onto the tarmac at Sky Harbor on Monday. Reporting on Fox 10 also reminds us of the passenger who left his jet while taxiing earlier in the month. Meyers was arrested. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
  2. Scottsdale-based Paradox created Olivia, a recruiting platform that received a $200M influx of investors cash. According to reporting in AZ Big Media, "the conversational AI assistant [is] helping companies like Unilever, Nestle, McDonald's, CVS Health, and General Motors automate tasks like candidate screening, interview scheduling [and] onboarding..." Paradox founder and CEO Aaron Matos said, "This fundraise was entirely about team building... we'll continue to build the most innovative software in the industry, all while we grow and develop Team Paradox... we're humbled and honored to partner with investors who share our vision." (AZ Big Media)
  3. The Scottsdale Independent runs down the top stories for 2021. The swearing-in of Scottsdale's mayor, David Ortega, the heartbreaking story of Jubi Monsif, and multiple revelations and responses to COVID-19 were among the notable headlines. (Your Valley)
