🌱 'Fidgets For Fosters' + Bret Michaels Gives Back + 2035 Plan
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Scottsdale.

Happy Thanksgiving, fellow Scottsdalians! Geoff Campbell here with your Turkey Day issue of the Scottsdale Daily. I am particularly grateful today for all of our Scottsdale Daily Digest readers — thank you!
First, today's weather:
Today's weather will be pleasant with lots of sun, a high of 77 and a low of 50. Enjoy!
Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:
- "Fidgets for Fosters" is the brainchild of Scottsdale second-grader, 7-year-old Avery Bell, who recently broke her leg and used a wheelchair. According to AZ Family reporting, Avery's mom brought home some fidget toys to help Avery relieve the stress. Avery explained, "They are really fun... they take away your stress and make you have a lot of good times in your life." Next, she began to collect fidgets to give to foster kids during the holiday. According to the report, a GoFundMe page later, Avery's aspirational goal is to raise "$14,000 to provide fidget toys to all 14,000 Arizona foster children." (Arizona's Family)
- Bret Michaels will be returning to the Barret Jackson Auction Jan. 22-30, 2022, as a rock star and car enthusiast and leaving as an important donor. Michaels plans to sell his Bentley in part to benefit his Life Rocks Foundation (according to the auction house) and the sale of a 1973 De Tomaso Pantera will benefit Barrow Neurological Institute. Michaels said, "I am living proof that Barrow's works; I had a subarachnoid brain hemorrhage, and they saved my life... and then not long after that, went back in to have heart surgery, and they saved my life there, too." Barrett-Jackson's flagship Scottsdale Auction at WestWorld in January will be the auction company's 50th-anniversary celebration. (12news.com KPNX)

According to a City press release, the Council officially accepted the election results on Nov. 16 and replaced the 2001 General Plan with the newest version. The release quotes Mayor David D. Ortega, "Many thanks to everyone who helped craft our vision to enhance our quality of life and support the economic vitality of Scottsdale, approved General Plan 2035 will serve as our guide for the next 10 years."
