Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:
- A Scottsdale homeowner found some furry uninvited guests! After hearing some noise in the attic, the homeowner found a bobcat kitten up there. Though the kitten was found all alone, the mother bobcat was later found hiding in the bathroom. Arizona Game & Fish and Southwest Wildlife captured the bobcats, safely removed them from the home, and reunited them as they were released back into the wild. (Arizona's Family)
- Looking for a cool way to spend your hot summer afternoons? Western Spirit: Scottsdale's Museum of the West is offering western movie matinees on Thursdays and Sundays in July and August. Screenings start at 2 p.m., and the lineup kicks off with "Jews of the Wild West" on Sunday, July 23. Movies are free to members or with paid admission, or non-members can go see the movie only for $5. Popcorn and bottled water are available for purchase. - The excessive heat warning continues this week. As a reminder, there are hydration stations available at the Via Linda and Granite Reef senior centers, Paiute Neighborhood Center, and Vista del Camino Community Center. Cooling stations are also available at Mustang, Civic Center, Appaloosa, and Arabian libraries. You can find tips to prevent heat-related illness, "Stay Cool, Stay Hydrated, and Stay Informed" here.
