Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:
- SFD received the call. The father in a father-son pair had been injured mountain biking. The subsequent airlift from Browns Ranch Trailhead revealed a severe head injury. Further information about the victim's condition was not readily available. (Arizona's Family)
- Who fired a gun at 2 a.m. near Craftsman Court and Third Avenue in Old Town on Sunday morning? According to Fox 10 News, police are still looking for the responsible party. The victim is expected to recover from injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening. Marco Felicioli, an Old Town business owner, said "It's the fourth shooting close to our business." - Nationally known trumpeter Jessie McGuire will kick off the Scottsdale Jazz Festival on April 30. According to the Daily Independent, "McGuire is an American trumpeter from Phoenix and has performed at many major sporting events and for three U.S presidents... the lead trumpeter for the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra of New York City and for the band Tower of Power." The lineup will also include Nayo Jones and her band, Kermit Ruffins, the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra led by Adonis Rose, Rick Braun and Richard Elliot, Cold Shott, and The Hurricane Horns, and the Jaleo Latin Music, the Molina 32nd Street All-Star Youth Jazz Band.
