Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:
- The Arizona Office of Tourism, Scottsdale Fashion Square, cultural leaders of Scottsdale Arts, and City of Scottsdale came together to support 15 custom-created saguaro cacti, "decorated to reflect the five Cs that are the root of its economy: cotton, climate, cattle, copper, and citrus." It's called The Cactus Collective, and it will be on display at Scottsdale Fashion Square through March. According to the City Sun Times report, "The artists who created the cacti are, Sharon Biemond, Catina Crum, Ashley Durard, Jo Ho, Adam Jackson, Shari Keith, Nathaniel Lewis, Rachelle Olsen-Veal, Justin Pye, Jordan Ragland, Maria Madrid Reed, Paige Reesor, Diane Rogers, Jacx Schanes, and Rita Toikka." - This summer, Camp Geulah for ages 3-5, an extension of the MMA Early Learning Center, is coming to Scottsdale. "It's our pilot summer to go along with our pilot year of opening the early learning center," said Deena Harari, camp director at Menachem Mendel Academy. - The Past Presidents' Council of the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce honored "individuals, local companies, and nonprofit organizations" at a recent event. According to Daily Independent's reporting, "These individuals and organizations have contributed immeasurably to the rich heritage of Scottsdale, dating back to its modern-day founding in 1888 by Army Chaplain Winfield Scott."
