Do you or anyone you know have a student preparing to go to college? If so, you know how daunting the FAFSA application process can be. As part of Capital One’s continued effort to bolster financial literacy and support its customers and communities, the Capital One Café at <a href="https://www.capitalone.com/local/scottsdale-fashionsquare/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Scottsdale Fashion Square</a> is hosting a series of free FAFSA workshops. 
In partnership with and with experts from <a href="https://educationforwardarizona.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Education Forward Arizona</a>, workshops will be held on the following Saturdays from 10am - 2pm. Light refreshments will be available for participants. 
<ul><li>Saturday, April 18th</li><li>Saturday, May 16th</li><li>Saturday, June 13th</li></ul>
Experts will be on site to guide students and families through the FAFSA application process, answer their questions, and provide individualized support for a process that can feel intimidating for some.

&nbsp; &nbsp;On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, the Scottsdale Civil War Roundtable will host Lynn Herman, speaking on “The New Mexico Campaign &amp; Glorieta Pass.” This 1862 campaign was the Confederacy’s attempt to conquer the Southwest, including the occupation of Tucson, and a century later served as the basis for the famous film 'The Good, The Bad &amp; The Ugly.' &nbsp; Lynn Herman is a well-known public historian on the Civil War, appearing on C-Span History TV, BBC, and at many Civil War Roundtables, as well as being president of the Central Pennsylvania Civil War Roundtable. Mr. Herman is also a re-enactor. From 1982 to 2006 he represented Pennsylvania’s 77th District in the State House of Representatives. &nbsp; The lecture will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Copper Auditorium located on the lower level of the Civic Center branch of the Scottsdale Public Library, 3839 N. Drinkwater Blvd., Scottsdale. The doors will open at 5:00 p.m. and provide an opportunity to meet the speaker, browse our book sale, and view a Civil War video in the Auditorium. Parking is free at the adjacent sub-level covered parking garage accessible off northbound Drinkwater Blvd. &nbsp; The public is welcome, free of charge, to attend the monthly meeting of the Scottsdale Civil War Roundtable. is time one again to promote our annual Pond Tours.&nbsp; The tours are hosted
by private homeowners that have ponds in their yards.&nbsp; Many ponds include
water features, sculptures, Koi and other fish.&nbsp; Everyone is invited to
participate and there is no fee.&nbsp; The website will have maps to the ponds
on the tour.&nbsp; The East Valley tours this year will be on Saturday, May 2nd from 9 AM to 4 PM open house style.
