Hi there, Scottsdale! I'm here in your inbox this morning to tell you everything you need to know about what's going on in town.

Mostly sunny and hot. High: 107 Low: 81.
📢 I'm looking for business owners and marketers in Scottsdale who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Scottsdale Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If that's you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top three stories today in Scottsdale:
- Centerra, a 202-unit apartment community in the North Scottsdale area, has been sold to Atlanta-based Cortland for $74.75 million. The garden-style, two- and three-story community is located at 11100 N. 115th Street near Loop 101 and was originally built in 1986. Prior to the sale, the previous owner, the Tanbic Company partnered with Edgehill to complete extensive renovations on each units as well as exterior improvements to create "a high-quality, affordable community" in the area, which offers numerous modern living amenities and nearby attractions. Learn more about Centerra on Cortland's website. (Daily Independent)
- After nearly three years of research and work, the Scottsdale Unified School District's special education task force gave a presentation earlier this week about how the district could improve its special education offerings. The task force has worked with community stakeholders over the last three years to uncover areas that require restructuring or added support, including current processes and procedures, student behavior needs, staff support and training, the special education weekly meeting (SWM), and other key areas of the programming. "Our purpose statement was to work together in a problem-solving capacity and create a common understanding, agreement and alignment on specific challenges and strengths in SUSD and having accord in all areas," said task force member Kim Guerin. From our sponsor:
Are you a Scottsdale resident looking for an investment alternative to the stock market?
Bloomberg recently asked experts where they'd invest $100,000 right now, and many of them had the same answer: fine art.
Thinking you can't afford a Picasso? Well in 2012, Congress passed the JOBS Act, which allowed for the securitization of artwork. A company called Masterworks.io built the largest platform for buying and selling art securities. In the past, you could only buy shares of companies like Apple, but with this investing app, you can unlock this powerful investment.
Meaning, you can invest in shares of million-dollar artwork. And in uncertain times, it turns out, fine art may be a wise investment. Here's why:
- Low correlation to stocks according to Citi
- Contemporary art historically returns 23.2% when inflation is >3%
- Contemporary art prices outpaced the S&P 500 by 164% (1995-2021)
