Following are significant road construction projects and traffic restrictions occurring in Scottsdale Aug. 27 - Sept. 5. For more information, contact Traffic Engineering at 480-312-7250.

Loop 101 improvement project (updated)

The Arizona Department of Transportation is widening and improving Loop 101 from Interstate 17 in Phoenix to Pima Road in Scottsdale. To learn more about the project and upcoming traffic restrictions, please visit ADOT’s project webpage, where you can also subscribe to project alerts. Following are current and upcoming restrictions:

• Westbound Loop 101 will be closed from Scottsdale Road to 56th Street from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, for deck joint sealing. The closure includes all westbound ramps. Detour on Pinnacle Peak Road or Bell Road. Traffic can re-enter westbound Loop 101 at 56th Street. 

Overnight closure at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Thompson Peak Parkway

The intersection at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Thompson Peak Parkway will be closed from 11 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, for road work. Detour on 92nd Street, 100th Street and Raintree Drive. Detour signs will be posted at the site.

Scottsdale Road restrictions near Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard 

Multiple lane restrictions will occur on Scottsdale Road from Loop 101 to Paradise Lane 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Aug. 11 - 30 for road work. Lane restrictions will also occur 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday Aug. 15 - 30.

Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard restricted from Via Linda to Cactus Road 

Multiple lane restrictions will occur on or near Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard from Via Linda to Cactus Road 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays Aug. 16 - 30 for boring.

Lane restrictions at Shea Boulevard and Via Linda (updated)

Multiple lane restrictions will occur at or near the intersection of Shea Boulevard and Via Linda 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays July 26 - Sept. 6 for boring.

Lane restrictions on Via Linda from Lakeview Drive to 104th Street 

Multiple lane restrictions will occur on or near Via Linda from Lakeview Drive to 104th Street Aug. 16 - Sept. 17 for utility work. 

Westbound Mountain View Road restricted near 84th Street

Westbound Mountain View Road will be reduced to one lane from 87th Place to Arabian Trail July 19 - Sept. 24 for concrete work. During those same dates Mountain View Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 84th Street. 

Restrictions on McDonald Drive west of Scottsdale Road

Multiple lane restrictions will occur on McDonald Drive immediately west of Scottsdale Road 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Aug. 25 - Sept. 10 for utility work.

Westbound Indian School Road restricted from Miller Road to Drinkwater Boulevard (new)

The westbound Indian School Road curb lane will be closed from Miller Road to immediately east of Drinkwater Boulevard 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through Friday, Sept. 3, for road work.

Restrictions at Thomas and Miller roads intersection

Multiple lane restrictions will occur at the Thomas and Miller roads intersection 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays Aug. 16 - 27 for road work.

Westbound Thomas Road reduced to one lane at 61st Place

Westbound Thomas Road will be reduced to one lane at 61st Place July 19 - Sept. 3 for utility work. During those same dates 61st Place will be closed in both directions at Thomas Road 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Restrictions at Scottsdale and McDowell roads intersection

Multiple lane restrictions will occur at the intersection of Scottsdale and McDowell roads weekends through Monday, Sept. 6, for utility work.

McDowell Road restricted between 64th Street and Scottsdale Road

McDowell Road will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between 64th Street and Scottsdale Road June 9 - Aug. 31 for road work.

McDowell Road restricted between Scottsdale and Miller roads (new)

McDowell Road will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between Scottsdale and Miller roads Aug. 26 to Sept. 23 for road work.
