City Of Scottsdale: Scottsdale Traffic Restrictions Aug. 6 - 15

Following are significant road construction projects and traffic restrictions occurring in Scottsdale Aug. 6 - 15. For more information, contact Traffic Engineering at 480-312-7250.

Loop 101 improvement project (updated)

The Arizona Department of Transportation is widening and improving Loop 101 from Interstate 17 in Phoenix to Pima Road in Scottsdale. To learn more about the project and upcoming traffic restrictions, please visit ADOT’s project webpage, where you can also subscribe to project alerts. Following are current and upcoming restrictions:

• Eastbound Loop 101 will be closed from Tatum Boulevard to Pima Road from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 6, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, for final striping. The closure includes all eastbound ramps. Detour on Pinnacle Peak Road or Thompson Peak Parkway. Traffic can re-enter eastbound Loop 101 at Pima Road or Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard. 
• Westbound Loop 101 will be closed from Pima Road to Scottsdale Road from 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 13, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, to seal deck joints. The closure includes all westbound ramps. Detour on Pinnacle Peak Road or Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard. Traffic can re-enter eastbound Loop 101 at Scottsdale Road. 

Restrictions at Bell Road and Thompson Peak Parkway 

Bell Road will be closed immediately east of Thompson Peak Parkway 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 26 - Aug. 6 for median improvements. Detour on McDowell Mountain Ranch Road. During those same times and dates, multiple restrictions will occur at the intersection of Bell Road and Thompson Peak Parkway.

Overnight closure at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Thompson Peak Parkway (new)

The intersection at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Thompson Peak Parkway will be closed from 11 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11, to 5 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, for road work. Detour on 92nd Street, 100th Street and Raintree Drive. Detour signs will be posted at the site.

Lane restrictions at Shea Boulevard and Via Linda

Multiple lane restrictions will occur at or near the intersection of Shea Boulevard and Via Linda 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays July 26 - Aug. 9 for boring.

Westbound Mountain View Road restricted near 84th Street

Westbound Mountain View Road will be reduced to one lane from 87th Place to Arabian Trail July 19 - Sept. 24 for concrete work. During those same dates Mountain View Road will be reduced to one lane in each direction at 84th Street. 

Restrictions on McDonald Drive west of Scottsdale Road (new)

Multiple lane restrictions will occur on McDonald Drive immediately west of Scottsdale Road 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays Aug. 2 - 13 for utility work.

Westbound Camelback Road restricted near Scottsdale Road

Westbound Camelback Road will be reduced to one lane between 75th Street and Scottsdale Road 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays July 27 - Aug. 13 for utility work.

Restrictions at Scottsdale and Indian School roads intersection (updated)

Multiple lanes will be restricted at the Scottsdale and Indian School roads intersection 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 2 - 11 while street signs are replaced.

Restrictions at or near Thomas Road and 56th Street

Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction at Thomas Road and 56th Street 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends through Sunday, Aug. 1, for boring. Multiple restrictions will occur on Thomas Road at 57th Place 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays Aug. 2 - 20. 

Westbound Thomas Road reduced to one lane at 61st Place

Westbound Thomas Road will be reduced to one lane at 61st Place July 19 - Aug. 20 for utility work. During those same dates 61st Place will be closed in both directions at Thomas Road 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Restrictions at Scottsdale and McDowell roads intersection (updated)

Multiple lane restrictions will occur at the intersection of Scottsdale and McDowell roads weekends through Monday, Sept. 6, for utility work.

McDowell Road restricted between 64th Street and Scottsdale Road

McDowell Road will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between 64th Street and Scottsdale Road June 9 - Aug. 31 for road work.

Southbound Hayden Road restricted between Roosevelt and Pierce streets

Southbound Hayden Road will be reduced to one lane between Roosevelt and Pierce streets 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays Aug. 2 - 13 for boring.
