Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. According to Fox 10 News, SPD is looking into a deadly crash involving a motorcycle on Cave Creek Road at Bartlett Dam Road. It appears that the rider left the road and crashed in the desert. This was a single-vehicle accident, and no further information was available about the driver. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
  2. An execution warrant was issued for Clarence Dixon, who, according to Patch, "was convicted in 2002 for raping, strangling and stabbing to death 21-year-old Arizona State University student Deana Bowdoin in her Tempe apartment." The execution is planned for the middle of May. According to the report, this is the first execution of an inmate in Arizona since Joseph Wood in 2014, which was considered "botched."
