🌱 Discount Tire Buys + Managing Overseas Trips + Principal Out
Today's Scottsdale news connections include Discount Tire, Tammy Fisher Travel, and Horizon High School.

Morning, people of Scottsdale! It's me again, Geoff Campbell, your host of the Scottsdale Daily.
First, today's weather:
We are expecting a mostly cloudy day with a high of 74 and a low of 50.
Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:
- Discount Tire of Scottsdale purchased Tire Rack out of South Bend, Indiana. According to a KTAR report, the deal will close on the final day of 2021. The merging enterprises will focus on its already developed lanes, Tire Rack in online business, and Discount Tire on its bricks and mortar locations. According to the report, 25,000 employees will work for the new company. (KTAR.com)
- You now need a negative COVID-19 test within one day of international travel, regardless of your vaccination history. "It's a huge change," Tammy Fisher explained. According to the KTAR Report, Fisher owns Tammy Fisher Travel, a Scottsdale travel agency, and has been "booking clients' overseas vacations for the past 10 years." The rules apply to inbound and outbound travelers. (12news.com KPNX)
- Linda Ihnat's contract, as Scottsdale's Horizon High School's principal, won't renew at the end of the year, according to a KTAR news report. The parental reaction to an Advanced Placement optional summer read, "So You've Been Publicly Shamed," by Jon Ronson, caused Paradise Valley Schools Superintendent Troy Bale's apology to families in November. Paradise Valley Unified School District Board voted to separate Ihnat from the district because she "failed to follow procedure when it came to informing parents about sensitive content in a book," according to the report.
