Happy Wednesday, people of Scottsdale! Let's get you all caught up to start today off on an informed note.

First, today's weather:

Another beautiful day! Today will be sunny, with a high of 84 and a low of 56. Enjoy!

Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. Missing since Sept. 23, Najib 'Jubi" Monsif is believed to have been kidnapped, according to family members in a recent report on FOX10 News. The FBI has joined the search that is now going into its sixth week. Jubi's father said in the report, "If I say it is a nightmare — it's an understatement." In the piece, Scottsdale Detective John Heinzelman noted that the search was a typical one beginning at Jubi's home and searching in a concentric circle, eventually covering 500 homes in the initial door-to-door canvas. He added that the resources used to date in an ever-broadening search had included drones, helicopters, ATVs, search and rescue dogs, and cadaver dogs. If you see Jubi or know anything about his whereabouts, please contact your local police. (FOX10 News Phoenix)
  2. According to a report on KJZZ, Old Town Scottsdale is divided into the following components: Historic Old Town; Civic Center; Fashion Square; Arizona Canal; Arts; Fifth Avenue; Entertainment; Brown and Stetson; Medical; Garden. On Nov. 15, City officials will meet interested citizens at SkySong, 1365 N. Scottsdale Road, Bldg. SkySong 3, to hear how life in these districts can change to serve the people better. This opportunity begins at 8:30-10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 5:30-7:30 p.m. A council vote is expected early in 2022 regarding updates in the development plan. (KJZZ)
  3. A 25-foot deep trench swallowed two construction workers on Monday. The trench, part of work being done on 91st Street and Happy Valley Road, was reported on Fox 10 News. According to the report, it took crews from "multiple agencies" 4 hours to extricate the men. The first victim suffered neck and head injuries in the fall, and a good Samaritan, who went in to help the first victim, was pulled from the hole unharmed. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
