Up and at 'em, Scottsdale! Let's get you started this Friday with everything you need to know for today and the weekend!
First, today's weather:
We are in a delightful weather groove. Today will see a mix of clouds and sun with a high of 81 and a low of 51. Enjoy!
Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:
- According to reporting on AZ Central, Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich has asked federal authorities to open investigations into the Jann-Michael Geenburg's alleged parent dossiers. Brnovich asked the FBI and the U.S. Justice Department to join the Scottsdale Police Department as agencies looking into the matter. Reportedly, a private investigation by the Scottsdale Unified School District Board was completed before the board voted to strip Greenburg of his presidency. Despite the report claiming "Greenburg's ultimate removal from the board on Tuesday," the SUSD website continues to list Greenburg as a member of the five-person board. (AZCentral.com)
- It's back! Christmas at The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess will be open from 5-10 p.m. nightly from now through Jan. 2, 2022. The entire resort is part of this winter extravaganza, according to reporting on AZ Big Media. "The Desert Ice Skating Rink, Frosty's Ferris Wheel, holiday character meet-n-greets, light shows in the Enchanted Plaza, Lagoon Lights and Princess Express Train, a Christmas carousel, s'mores at The Village, food, and beverages, Nativity Garden narrated light show, VIP fire pits, climate-controlled 'igloo' rentals, live entertainment and more" are essential elements of the winter celebration. (AZ Big Media)
- NYC Artist Luke Murphy is now presenting "Pixel-by-Pixel: Interventions" through April 10, 2022, at Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art. As quoted in the Scottsdale Independent, Julie Ganas, SMoCA curator of Engagement and Digital Initiatives, described the show this way: "I think what Luke is doing is quite subversive...[he] recontextualizes the LED screen in ways that reveal its innate humanity and the fragile materiality of the technology, challenging the illusion that technology is seamless and autonomous." Museum hours are 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays; and 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. on Thursdays. (Your Valley)
