- Thomas Galvin is ready to begin his term with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, according to AZCentral.com. The spot became open when Steve Chucri resigned. A Phoenician, Galvin works for the Scottsdale-based Rose Law Group. An election will be held next November. (AZCentral.com)
- According to AZ Family, the local Sweet Adelines chapter surprised Scottsdale resident and Alzheimer patient, 87-year-old Shirley Myers, with an in-home concert. According to the report, Myer's social worker, Gerrie Jakobs, arranged the surprise concert. (Arizona's Family)
