Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:
- The Scottsdale Police Department announced Saturday that they are looking into the alleged activity of the SUSD School Board President Jann-Michael Greenburg. Reporting by the ABC15 claimed that Greenburg "distributed a dossier on some parents, including photos and personal finances." Greenburg did not immediately respond to news of the investigation. (ABC15 Arizona)
- Update: The SPD has identified the driver responsible for striking Sherriff's Department, Lieutenant Chad Brackman. According to reporting by AZ Central, the alleged driver was 69-year-old Julia Contreras-Gonzalez, who was taken to the hospital following the collision. If you recall, the off-duty deputy was directing traffic at a construction site in Scottsdale at 87th and McDowell. According to a Patch report, "Lt. Brackman was a 22-year veteran of the Sheriff's Office and leaves behind his wife, two children, and two step-children." (AZ Central; Patch)
- ICYMI: Maybe you don't want to know, but the Leapfrog Group has made it possible for you to see your hospital grades, according to Patch reporting by Caitlin Sievers. Last week the Leapfrog Group gave us the Hospital Safety Grade of approximately 2,900 hospitals, the most ever. Leah Binder, president, and CEO of The Leapfrog Group said, "All hospitals must put patient safety first. Now we have more information on more hospitals than ever before, so people can protect themselves and their families." Here's how some local hospitals faired, Shea Medical Center Overall Grade: A; Thompson Peak HospitalOverall Grade: A; Osborn Medical Center Overall Grade: B. According to the report, grades were determined by an expert panel considering 30 patient safety-centered measures." (Patch)
