Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. Interested in a unique workout that ends with free ice cream? Check out Halo Top's pop-up "not-a-gym circuit" this weekend at Scottsdale Fashion Square on Camelback and Scottsdale roads. The 24-minute circuit includes a mechanical bull ride, a pillow fight station, hanging from a basketball rim, and "screaming and walking a shopping cart on a treadmill." The free event takes place today and tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (KTAR.com)
  2. The Scottsdale Police Department is warning residents of a new phone scam. Scammers are posing as SPD employees and "using phone software to make it look like they are calling from the Scottsdale Police Department." During the phone call, the scammers are telling potential victims that they have a warrant against them and, if not paid for over the phone, they will be arrested. These scammers may also have personal information from social medial and internet searches that might make the call seem legitimate. If you receive one of these phone calls, hang up and report it to the SPD at 480-312-5000. (12news.com KPNX)
  3. Francine Restaurant in Scottsdale Fashion Square is offering a new "Prix Fixe Weekend Brunch Menu" every Saturday and Sunday starting at 10 a.m. for $46 per person. Guests can enjoy "bottomless coffee, tea or one Bloody Mary, mimosa or glass of sparkling wine" plus a choice of one of four appetizers and one of nine entrees. The cuisine is described as "French fare with a Mediterranean twist and draws inspiration from the rustic charms and soulful cuisine of Southern France." (Arizona Foothills Magazine)
  4. The Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts has announced the offerings for the 2023-24 season. The impressive lineup includes The Mavericks, Jake Shimabukuro, Jane Lynch, and LeAnn Rimes, as well as a debut of the new Civic Center outdoor stages. (Broadway World)
