Here are the 3 top stories in Scottsdale today:
- A house party was the scene of a shooting in Scottsdale over the weekend, according to Fox 10 News. Gunshots broke out about 3 a.m. on Dec. 18, and SWAT was part of the SPD response. The party organizer was arrested as neighbors "feared for their lives." The report said, "The home was once rented out through Airbnb [and] it hasn't been reserved since 2020." (Fox 10 News)
- According to Patch reporting, records continue to fall as West Nile Virus cases, and deaths grow. Caitlin Sievers reported, "As of Friday, 1,300 cases had been recorded in the county, along with 90 deaths." According to the report's findings, there were three cases and one death in 2020, and the next highest tally was 155 cases and 17 deaths in 2019. The extraordinarily wet summer and the lack of a hard frost are factors in the virus's continuing spread. (Patch)
- Corporate Center I, 7047 E Greenway Parkway, was built in 2000 and recently sold by Cushman & Wakefield to Yonezawa-Miller Company, LLC for $37.75 million. Reporting in AZ Big said that the 2.6 acres complex was rented to approximately 93 percent of capacity at the time.
