Here are the top three stories today in Scottsdale:
- Prices for daily goods are up again this month. According to Caitlin Sievers/Patch, increases of this size have not been seen for almost 40 years. The 6.8 percent upward trend for the last 12 months includes significant contributors such as fuel, food, and autos. In addition, according to the report, housing costs have increased 4.1 percent and rents 3.1 percent. (Patch Media)
- A Friday vote by the City Council unanimously amended updates to the Vacation Rental Nuisance Parties and Unlawful Gatherings ordinance. According to Patch Reporting, "the updates to both ordinances, which take effect Jan. 7, 2022, will remove loopholes, increase fines and improve the city's enforcement abilities when handling short-term vacation rental complaints." - Indian School Park & Tennis Center just racked up its second award, according to a City Press Release. 2020 improvements were the impetus for recognition" for its construction excellence, diverse programming, hosting national events and more." The first award comes from The American Sports Builders Association (ASBA), which, bestowed the Distinguished Facility Award on the center. Additionally, the center was received the Municipal Tennis Facility of the Year by Racquet Sports Industry Magazine. (Press Release Desk)
