Happy Thursday, neighbors! Here's what you need to know about what's happening in Scottsdale today.

First, today's weather:

A beautiful sunny day is on tap with a high of 81 and a low of 52. Enjoy!

Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:

  1. "Shutting down traffic would be just a horrific idea," said Phillip Kass, director of American Fine Art, according to reporting on Arizona's Family. The City of Scottsdale is considering a plan to shut down either Scottsdale Road from Indian School to Second Street or a second option to Fourth Street. The street fair would happen from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the first Sunday of March, April, and May in 2022. "Having just heard about it, I think it is not a bad idea," said Scott Wik, the manager of Karsen's Grill, in the report. The Scottsdale City Council considered the plans on Tuesday, and there will be more deliberation before the final vote is taken. (Arizona's Family)
  2. Wait, how many 'Jeds' were in your graduating class? That's the gist of a question brother Josh asked Jed when Josh found a Chapparal High School letterman jacket while perusing a second-hand store in Pinetop. According to AZ Family reporting, "Jed Mottley ordered a letterman jacket back in the 90s from Chaparral High, but he never picked it up because his family couldn't afford it." A recent thrift store find by his brother at Lakeside's Veterans Village thrift store brought the jacket back to the "Jed" to whom it was originally intended. The reunion was touching — watch the video! (Arizona's Family)
  3. Consumer costs are up significantly from Oct. 2020 to Oct. 2021, according to reporting by Caitlin Sievers at Patch. The Bureau of Labor Statistics tracked transportation, food, alcohol, and energy, among other variables that determine the breadth of the increases. "Consumer price inflation will likely endure as long as companies struggle to keep up with consumers' prodigious demand for goods and services," the report said. (Patch)
