Here are the top 3 stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. Martin Luther King Day will result in several events in the Metro. The annual parade will start at 11 a.m. in Mesa in the East Valley. The yearly MLK Jr. celebrations were created after residents, in 1996, voted to establish a citywide holiday recognizing the leadership of Dr. King. According to the East Valley Tribune, "This year's events are the result of a partnership between City of Mesa and the Mesa-East Valley MLK Committee." (East Valley Tribune)
  2. A 65-year-old Scottsdale man, Jay Borker, was indicted recently following his arrest in October. He plotted to kidnap his ex-girlfriend and kill her dog, according to FOX 10. 3. NerdWallet is opening an office in Scottsdale at the Lincoln Towne Center. The 10,000-square-foot office will house sales and management, according to KTAR.
