  1. Scottsdale ranks No. 2 in the country on WalletHub's list of "2023 Best Places for Summer Jobs." The study "compared 182 cities" using "21 key indicators of employment outlook, affordability and downtime-friendliness." Seven other cities in Arizona also made the list, with Tempe being next in line at No. 26. (KTAR.com)
  2. The City of Scottsdale is officially notifying property taxpayers of a proposed "increase in primary property taxes of $2,274,290 or 6.24 percent." As an example, the proposed tax increase would result in the primary property taxes on a $100,000 home increasing from $48.47 to $51.50. The city invites all residents to attend a public hearing on the tax increase on June 13 at 5 p.m. at the City of Scottsdale City Hall Kiva, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd. (City of Scottsdale)
  3. The Scottsdale Public Library's summer reading program kicks off June 1 and runs through Aug. 1. The theme is "All Together Now," with unique gameboards and prizes available for pre-readers, kids, teens, and adults. You can register for the program at maricopacountyreads.org.
