Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:
- The Scottsdale City Manager's Office released a statement about Arizona Senate Bill 1432, which addresses the Rio Verde Foothills water supply issue. The statement indicates that the legislation "protects Scottsdale residents" and validates that the city is "ready to do its part" as the bill is signed into law. Key provisions of note are that Scottsdale's Drought Management Plan would not be affected, Scottsdale's water would not be used, a new standpipe district would obtain the water, and Scottsdale would treat the water for reasonable costs of service. All contracts, billing, reimbursement for services, and liability after the water is provided would be the responsibility of the standpipe district. (City of Scottsdale)
