🌱 Old Town Small Business Success + SFD Toys On Ice + New Hotel
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Scottsdale.

Good morning Scottsdale! I hope that your weekend was a good one and the result of the holiday is a relaxed and rested you. Welcome to the week. So, get on up, Scottsdale! Here's everything you need to know to get this Monday started right.
First, today's weather:
Today will be sunny and warmer; a high of 80 and a low of 49. Enjoy!
Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:
- Scottsdale's brand of Small Business Saturday was an anecdotal success, according to a Fox 10 News report. Healthy crowds with bags of purchases on their arms, crowded sidewalks, and darting shoppers in and out of Old Town shops were all indicators that the money was coming back to local businesses. Allen Pile, the owner of the KactusJock gift shop, explained, "We had a good year last year, and this year seems to be even better." According to the piece, success seemed to result despite ongoing supply chain and staffing issues. (FOX 10 News Phoenix)
- Do some good and feel good, too — maybe even see Disney on Ice for free. According to Signals AZ, if you are one of the first 1,000 to donate an unwrapped, new toy between 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday, Dec. 4, and bring it to the South lot at Fashion Square, you will receive a free ticket to Disney on Ice! So if you adore "Mickey, Minnie, Miguel, Moana, Elsa, Belle, or Genie," that's a big deal. But, of course, the point here is to provide the Scottsdale Fire Department with toys and such to share with kids in places like Paiute Neighborhood Center, Family Promise, Honor Health Hospitals, and Arizona Helping Hands. (Signals AZ)
- Make your reservations now! On Dec. 15, Senna House, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, will join numerous Scottsdale hotels that serve visitors and locals alike. According to AZ BigMedia, "Senna House will be Arizona's first-ever purpose-built, soft-branded hotel, bringing an energetic pulse to Scottsdale with luxury amenities, entertainment, and chef-driven dining options." One hundred sixty-nine rooms, six stories, a swim club, and a waterfront-adjacent location seem to set the Senna House up for success. (AZ Big Media)
