🌱 Pony Express @ Granite Reef + Movie Night + Nelson's Meat + Fish
The quickest way to get caught up on the most important things happening today in Scottsdale.

Good morning, neighbors! It's Megan Moreno, your host of the Scottsdale Patch newsletter — back in your inbox with everything you need to know about what's happening in town these days. Including...
- Pick up library holds 24/7 at the Pony Express @ Granite Reef.
- Family Fun Movie Night at the newly renovated Scottsdale Civic Center.
- Nelson's Meat + Fish has opened a second location in Scottsdale.
But first, your local weather: It will be hot with plenty of sunshine, with a high of 111 and low of 82.
Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:
- Scottsdale Public Library has opened Pony Express @ Granite Reef, which is the first express library service that "allows patrons to pick up library holds in lockers at Granite Reef Senior Center 24/7." To use this service, place a request on the library website and select "Hold Lockers at Granite Reef" as the pickup location. After library staff place the hold in the locker, you will receive an email to pick it up within 7 days. (Scottsdale Public Library)
- Check out the newly renovated Scottsdale Civic Center by attending Family Fun Movie Night at 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd. on Saturday, Aug. 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. This free event will feature food trucks, lawn games, and a movie on an inflatable screen. The movie, which is still to be announced, will start at the east stage "shortly after sunset." (City of Scottsdale)
- The Scottsdale location of Nelson's Meat + Fish is now open! Located at 14224 N. Scottsdale Road, the shop offers fresh meats and seafood to take home, rotating menu items like sticky rice poke bowls and seafood soup, and a smoker to "infuse extra flavor into items like scallops, shrimp and sablefish." Starting Aug. 8, this location will stay open until 5 p.m. (Phoenix New Times)
