Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:
- Scottsdale law enforcement officials arrested a 48-year-old man on charges of illegally recording women without their consent. A large company found recordings of women taken in Arizona, California and Singapore on company-owned electronic devices. Officials discovered over 100 items, both photos and videos, including two videos recorded at the company's location near Bell Road and Scottsdale Road. The man was also let go from his place of employment. (ABC15 Arizona in Phoenix)
- OdySea Aquarium hosted a Taylor Swift dance party for fans with special needs. Rosie, a disabled African penguin, also got in on the fun. Rosie shares a birthday with Taylor Swift, and she reportedly shares many of the singer's personality traits as well. The other party guests included 11 children with special needs/disabilities and their families and friends. (12news.com KPNX)
- Scottsdale Quarter is hosting a Hide and Peep Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. During this family-friendly event, guests can participate in an interactive scavenger hunt, visit with the Easter bunny and enjoy balloon twisting and face painting! - The Scottsdale City Council will begin a historic overlay process on March 21 that would lead to Scottsdale City Hall being designated as a historic landmark. Mayor Ortega is seeking recollections and stories about City Hall to include in this process, with a dedication ceremony planned for this spring. All City Hall memories and stories should be sent by April 12 to DOrtega@Scottsdaleaz.gov. (CITYSunTimes)
- The third annual Runway for Research fundraising event and fashion show will take place at Neiman Marcus in the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall on Friday, October 13 at 8:30 a.m. The event supports the Translation Genomics Research Institute, which is part of City of Hope and focuses on DNA-based research for early detection, diagnosis and treatment of women's cancer.
