Your five-minute guide to everything worth knowing today in Scottsdale.

(Patch Media)

One thousand readers! Thank you fellow Scottsdalians and happy Wednesday. Last week's reader stats are in and you are supporting Scottsdale Patch and your Scottsdale Daily Digest in record numbers. If you or someone you know wants to share events, products, or services with the growing readership then please let me know. So now, let's get you all caught up on what's happening locally to start today off on an informed note.

First, today's weather:

Do you ever tire of this gorgeous weather? Today will be mostly sunny and pleasant with a high of 81 and a low of 56.

Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. Jubi Monsif has been missing since Sept. 22. He is a 20 year old with autism who is typically in the care of a family member. Last week we reported that the FBI has joined the case, and this week, according to reporting from KPNX, the family has established a $100,000 reward for "any information leading to his safe return." According to the report, the police are not suggesting a home abduction; instead, they believe Jubi may have been lured away from home. Please get in touch with the Scottsdale Police Department at 480-312-5000 if you know anything about the disappearance of Jubi. (12news.com KPNX)
  2. Live it up while you work out! A Lifetime Fitness Club is planned to open at Scottsdale Fashion Square in 2023. According to reporting in the Biz Journal, "The location, which [will] open adjacent to the mall's luxury wing, will include a rooftop 'beach club,' bar, studios for group fitness and other amenities." (Phoenix Business Journal - subscribe)
  3. What a mess! PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) reported Monday afternoon that the lights were back on at Sky Harbor. Beginning Monday at 8 a.m., according to the report, terminals 3 and 4 went offline. The outage left customers stranded. The report stated, "More than 230 inbound flights had been affected — 150 were delayed and more than 90 canceled." The outage may have been related to damage that occurred during routine maintenance; an APS employee was injured at the time. (AZFamily)
