Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. Scottsdale Earth Week kicks off on Earth Day (April 22) and continues through Arbor Day (April 28)! The week will conclude with a "tree-planting ceremony to celebrate Scottsdale's 41st year as a Tree City USA community." The city is offering an extensive list of events, including a Green Expo, Adopt-a-Road Cleanup, guided walks, hikes and tours. The city also offers Earth-friendly tips, which highlight Sustainable Scottsdale initiatives like water conservation, recycling and pollinator protections. (City of Scottsdale)
  2. Scottsdale's city ordinance requiring short-term rentals to register with the city went into effect about three months ago. As of this month, 3,551 short-term rentals submitted applications, and about 1,500 have yet to register.   3. Embark Behavioral Health opened a new clinic at 7373 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite D-120, in the McCormick Ranch area. Embark is "a leading network of mental health treatment programs for preteens, teens, young adults and their families." Programs offered include a therapeutic day treatment program, an intensive outpatient program, "individual, group and family therapy, as well as therapeutic/peer mentoring, home health care services, addiction treatment and parent coaching" for a wide array of specific challenges.   4. Fratelli La Bufala opened in Scottsdale, marking its second location in the U.S.! With one location in Miami and over 70 locations throughout Italy and other countries, the restaurant founded in Southern Italy is now at 7300 N Via Paseo Del Sur, Suite B, in McCormick Ranch.   • Check out Shady Rays' grand opening celebration at Kierland Commons: "The first 50 customers in the store will receive a free pair of mystery sunglasses from the company's collection of polarized lifestyle eyewear.
