Scottsdale Wants Your Input On The 2026 Section 8 Housing Plan

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Scottsdale residents will have two chances next month to weigh in on how the city runs its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program in 2026.

The city will hold public hearings on the 2026 Public Housing Agency Administrative Plan for its housing voucher program at 5 p.m. Aug. 13 and Sept. 24 at Granite Reef Senior Center, 1700 N. Granite Reef Road in Scottsdale.

City officials say the hearings are intended to gather citizen input before the plan is finalized.

A formal public comment period runs from Aug. 7 through Sept. 21. Written comments will be accepted by the Housing and Community Assistance Office through Sept. 21 and should be addressed to:

The Administrative Plan lays out Scottsdale’s local policies for administering the Section 8 voucher program within federal rules set by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

In practical terms, the plan covers areas where Scottsdale has discretion in operating the program, including how it manages its waitlist, applies local preferences and enforces program rules. The plan must follow HUD requirements and be formally adopted by the Scottsdale Housing Agency’s Board of Commissioners or other authorized officials.

Residents can review the 2026 Administrative Plan on the city’s website, at the Housing and Community Assistance Office, and at Scottsdale Public Library branches. The plan is also available in an alternate format upon request by calling 480-312-7156.

The hearings and public comment period are part of the city’s required review process before the 2026 plan is formally adopted.
