Here are the top stories in Scottsdale today:
- According to a City press release, "Scottsdale is looking to fill 74 lifeguards and swim instructor positions to safely and appropriately staff its four city pools. With summer around the corner filling the positions is a priority. Whether it's lessons, laps, or lounging, someone needs to keep pool-goers safe. Lifeguards' and swim instructors' pay will move from $12.90/hour to $14.50/hour to incentivize the process." (Press Release Desk)
- Scottsdale's neighbor to the east is hosting Fountain Hills Day. The day is set to show off the town with expos of all kinds, a ferris wheel, info sessions, and according to the press release, "celebrate and bring together all that is Fountain Hills... an exciting event within the event will be Taste of Fountain Hills, which will feature 'tastes' from our local restaurants, $4 samples of what each restaurant offers." Fountain Hills Day is set for Saturday, March 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Fountain Hills Times)
- Check your lottery tickets — someone in the Phoenix Metro is walking around with the million-dollar ticket sold at the Circle K on 27th Avenue south of Dunlap Avenue. According to Patch, "the winning numbers were 8, 23, 37, 52 and 63, and the Powerball was 13 — check your tickets!" (Phoenix Patch)
