Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. Cigna Medical Group opened a new one-stop medical services 'shop' in the SkySong complex at the corner of McDowell and Scottsdale roads. According to Matthew Bennett, Cigna Medical Group president, "Cigna Medical Group has been serving individuals and families in Scottsdale and the Greater Phoenix area for 50 years and we are excited to open a new health care center within the SkySong development." The facility features multiple procedure rooms, a pharmacy, and "virtual exam rooms" in which doctors off-site can treat and consult patients on-site. (KTAR.com)
  2. The Artichoke Grill at Scottsdale Community College reopened Tuesday. The student-run restaurant for the Scottsdale Community College Culinary Arts program has been closed during the pandemic. Mark Dow, the director of the program, indicated that the hardest part of being closed during the pandemic was the inability to teach students in person and in the kitchen. Lessons were taught virtually and patrons of the restaurant did not benefit from the student's hard work creating their daily fare. Dow reports that space may be limited so check their website for more details. (KTAR.com)
  3. Hera, a severely burned and abandoned Husky, is ready to be released to her forever home. The Pet Smart on Miller and Camelback in Scottsdale is hosting her adoption. After nearly three months, first, in the Arizona Humane Society's Second Chance Animal Trauma Hospital and eventually in foster care, she is recovered and ready for adoption. (KTAR.com)
  4. Indoor sky diving is experiencing a post-pandemic recovery in Scottsdale. iFly, an indoor sky diving simulation facility, one of 42 across the country, is located on East Talking Stick Way in Scottsdale. It was acquired by Scottsdale-based Outlier in 2020. David Tedesco is CEO and founder. Outlier boasts 12,000 workers throughout the country in a variety of enterprises. According to Biz Journal, Outlier is among the largest private companies in Arizona. Outlier holds several extreme-fun companies including go-carts and bounce-related children's party sites. Outlier's local holdings also include Phoenix-based Realty Executives. (Phoenix Business Journal-subscribe)
