Here are the top 3 stories today in Scottsdale:
- Yessenia Garcia was mistakenly arrested in May for a hit-and-run. According to Patch reporting, Garcia's car was sitting in a parking lot near the accident when it happened. Before the event, a random vandal smashed her windshield, and that moment was caught on security cameras. Police were called to the scene of the nearby hit-and-run victim and took Garcia to jail overnight. On Tuesday, SPD Chief Jeff Walther said, "We made some mistakes plain and simple, and the involved employees have been disciplined for those mistakes... we are not infallible, and any expectation of such is unrealistic." (Scottsdale Patch)
- According to ABC 15 reporting, the PHX Sky Train is nearly ready and will operate this summer. "We're excited to provide this convenience to our travelers," said Airport Spokesperson Heather Shelbrack. However, some safety testing is yet to be completed. Once it is operating, the PHX Sky Train will take passengers from the 44th Street Station and the terminals directly to the rental car center, 24 hours a day, every few minutes, according to Shellback. (ABC15 Arizona)
- According to AZ Family reporting, Buzzed Bull Creamery will begin to serve made-to-order alcohol-infused and non-alcoholic frozen desserts and coffees on Wednesday, Jan. 19. The shop is located at the Waterfront: 7135 E Camelback Road Suite. This is Buzzed Bull's first Arizona location! (Arizona's Family)
