Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. The Scottsdale Unified School District approved a settlement with Juul, an electronic cigarette manufacturer, for an undisclosed amount of money. After winning this battle, SUSD is focusing on a lawsuit against social media companies like YouTube, TikTok, Facebook (Meta) and Instagram. The district argues that these platforms are selling ads and making profits at the expense of youths' mental health. (Scottsdale Progress)
  2. The City of Scottsdale reminded residents of resources available to prepare for spring storms. Snowmelt, upstream rain and the associated water releases elevate concerns about additional rain in Scottsdale. Sand and bags are free to residents courtesy of the city, but are provided on a first-come, first-served basis, with limited availability. (City of Scottsdale)
  3. JL Patisserie, a bakery and cafe with locations in both Scottsdale and Phoenix, is being considered for the James Beard Award for outstanding bakery! Later this month, owner Jenna Leurquin will find out if her bakery secures a spot as a finalist. Customers can enjoy quiches, croissants, baguettes and other delicacies at both locations. (KJZZ)
  4. Life Time Fitness opened a luxurious new location at Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall! The 50,000-square-foot new club, which opened on March 3, boasts views of the Superstition and Camelback Mountains. Members can enjoy massage and esthetician services, nutritional cafe offerings, a variety of fitness classes and an area for rejuvenation, complete with a cold plunge, sauna and whirlpool. • The City of Scottsdale is reminding residents,"with rain falling on Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve trails this week, [to] please be a good steward of the land and practice 'Rain Refrain' ethics. It is everyone's responsibility to be respectful of the trails. Wet and muddy trails are vulnerable to damage from boots, hooves, and bike wheels and many of the preserve trails were already damp from prior rains. There's no definitive rule on when it's 'OK' to hit the trails again after heavy rain, but a good rule of thumb is if you are leaving tracks, it's still too wet. Stop and turn around." (City of Scottsdale - Government via Facebook)

They are looking for a Technical Support Representative to provide first class technical support to customers through multiple communication channels which may include email and phones.
