- As the Omicron variety of the coronavirus takes the lead in infections, hospitals are gearing up. According to reporting on AZ Family, "Nationally, about 77 percent of inpatient beds were occupied as of Dec. 22, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services." - "I could not believe it at all. I felt so lucky. I was like, 'No way this is happening to me,'" said waitress Jocelyn Streeper, a server at Eggstasy in Scottsdale for the past four months. According to reporting on AZ Family, Streeper received a $1,000 tip from a grateful regular paying it forward. Living in uncertain times has caused Streeper to delay some car work, and now she is ready to go! (Arizona's Family)
- Don't miss an opportunity to get involved in your City's government in the new year. Volunteers are needed for six boards, commissions, and committees: Parks and Recreation Commission; Building Advisory Board of Appeals; Loss Trust Fund Board; Historic Preservation Commission; Environmental Advisory Commission; Citizens' Bond Oversight Committee. - Four Scottsdale Unified School District board members survived a recall vote to lead another day. However, according to AZ Family reporting, Saturday's deadline for the 21,000 signatures came and went. The report claims that the recall effort was a response to mask mandates.(Arizona's Family)
