Stay up to date with the Scottsdale Daily!

Welcome back, Scottsdale! It's Saturday, so let's get you started with everything you need to know.
First, today's weather:
Warmer with plenty of sun. The high will be 89, and the low, 65. Enjoy your weekend weather!
Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:
- Taking water from the air is what Source Water, a Scottsdale-based enterprise, does. The company is offering relief to drought-stricken and typically dry areas of the state, according to a report by Fox 10 News. Jerry Williams, former president of the LeChee Chapter of the Navajo Nation, remarked upon seeing the panels work said, "They just get up, get a cup and fill up the cup... they have drinking water." According to Thomas Borns, from Water Source, "Sunlight and air. That's literally all we need to make clean drinking water right at home." The solar-powered panels draw cooler air relative to the panels' solar-heated air, creating "passive condensation." The proof is in the pooling; 200 Source Water panels yield 400k gallons annually at the ever-growing ASU Source Water water farm. In Borns's own words, "This is hope." (FOX 10 News)
- It's that time in the cycle, candidates for the Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) School Board are filing paperwork to run for seats on the school board. According to reporting in the Daily Independent, current Board President Jann-Michael Greenburg and current members Robert Vaules and Jonathan Bakke are at various stages in the process required to get re-elected a year from now. Scottsdale's general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, — two seats will be open; interested, read more. (Your Valley)
- Scottsdale Police arrested Avinady Juarez Gonzalez, of Phoenix for his role in a shooting earlier in the week at a Holiday Inn in northeast Scottsdale, according to Fox 10 reporting. Scottsdale SWAT apparently made the arrest without incident. The report reveals that Gonzalez was arrested for aggravated assault that left his victim in the hospital after shooting him in the abdomen. As of Thursday of this week, the victim remained in the ICU. (FOX 10 News)
