Good morning, people of Scottsdale! Geoff Campbell here with a brand-new edition of the Scottsdale Daily.

First, today's weather:

Another lovely day — the high will be 81 and the low 53. Enjoy!

Here are the top stories today in Scottsdale:

  1. Lights, Music, And Fire: The 2021 Canal Convergence is a huge hit according to the size of weekend crowds on the Scottsdale Waterfront, as reported by Fox 10 News. Canal Convergence is set to continue through Nov. 14 and will kick off every night at 6 p.m. The Canal Convergence has returned in person this year with unique modalities for patron interaction. The Fox 10 video caught glimpses of visitors interacting with doors that opened onto an everchanging hologram-like interior — check it out! The Patch Calendar has a full schedule of Canal Convergence events. (Fox10 News)
  2. Zillow in Scottsdale has taken the necessary steps to lay off 24 of its employees, according to reporting on ABZ15. "This definitive move comes on the heels of Zillow announcing a 25 percent reduction of its workforce as the company begins shuttering its Zillow Offers division that buys and sells homes," according to the report. This is another in a series of notifications of Zillow staff reductions in the Phoenix area. (ABC15)
  3. Spinato's Pizzeria is growing! A second location in Scottsdale is opening at Loop 101 and Via Ventura Drive, according to a report on KTAR. "Opening another Spinato's Scottsdale location has been a dream of ours for a long time," Anthony Spinato, president and CEO of Spinato's Pizzeria, said in the report. The 160-seat pizzeria is hiring; a recruiting event will be held Nov. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (KTAR)
