1. Western Spirit: Scottsdale's Museum of the West has been named "No. 1 Western Museum" by "True West" magazine! The award recognizes "outstanding institutions that embody the spirit of the American West," and potential recipients are evaluated based on their "exhibits, facilities, multi-media and online accessibility, events, and promotion of historic/cultural resources." 2. The Westin Kierland Resort & Spa, 6902 E. Greenway Parkway, is hosting "Disco in the Desert" on Saturday, Aug. 5 at 8 p.m. The '70s-themed event features live music from "The Polyesters," a light-up dance floor, and prizes for best 70s attire.
