- It's a love story of sorts. The one-person show, "Wyatt Earp: A Life on the Frontier" was written by modern-day Wyatt Earp's wife, Terry Tafoya Earp. On Sunday, Jan. 30, the Fellowship Center of the Desert Hills Presbyterian Church in Scottsdale will host the play starring … Wyatt Earp, who claims to descend, according to Foothills reporting, "from one of the Wild West Earp's uncles." Earp met Phoenix playwright and theater owner Terry Tafoya Earp in the late '70s, and within a decade, the play was read for the stage. The article explained that "Tafoya Earp died in 2019, following years of medical battles after an accident in 2006 that left her quadriplegic." Reportedly, Sunday's performance will number 1,050! (Foothills Focus)
- The Arabian Horse Association (AHAA) announced its 67th annual Arabian Horse Show dates at Scottsdale's WestWorld. The show features the best Arabians, outstanding competition, and much more. According to AZ Big Media Reporting, the show will run from Thursday, Feb. 17 through Sunday, Feb. 27. "We are thrilled to announce that the Scottsdale show will return, offering guests and spectators the full experience next year," said Taryl O'Shea, executive director of the AHAA. (AZ Big Media)
- If you want to see ranked, top golfers demonstrate their craft; you are in luck! Viktor Hovland, No. 5, and Xander Schauffele, No. 7, have agreed to play in the WM Phoenix Open from Feb 7-13 at TPC Scottsdale. They will join No. 1 Jon Rahm, No. 6 Justin Thomas, No. 10 Hideki Matsuyama, No. 14 Jordan Spieth, and No. 17 Brooks Koepka., according to Patch reporting. Twenty-two of the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) will take to the tees. The $8.2 million purse earns the winner $1,476,000. (Patch)
