Zinqué Shuts Down At Scottsdale Fashion Square, New Bistro Moving In

Zinqué, which opened in 2020 as its first Arizona location, has closed at Scottsdale Fashion Square.

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Another restaurant change is coming to Scottsdale Fashion Square as Zinqué has closed its doors, with a new California-based bistro expected to take over the space.

The French-inspired bistro had operated at the luxury shopping center since 2020, serving all-day dining, small plates, breakfast, coffee drinks and evening cocktails.

The Scottsdale location was Zinqué’s first in Arizona.

The closure marks the latest shift in Scottsdale Fashion Square’s evolving restaurant lineup. In recent years, the mall’s luxury wing has seen a steady rotation of new concepts moving in, while longtime restaurants, including Francine and now Zinqué, have departed.

Inspired by the zinc countertop bars and cafés of Paris, Zinqué developed a following among diners looking for a casual European-style gathering place.

The restaurant opened daily beginning at 7 a.m., offering breakfast, lunch and dinner service, along with coffee drinks from La Colombe.

The former Zinqué space at 4712 N. Goldwater Blvd., Suite 110, now has signage announcing that Porta Via is expected to open there.

No opening date has been announced.

Porta Via is a California-based bistro and bar founded by Peter Garland, who opened the first location in Beverly Hills in 1994. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a menu focused on seasonal ingredients, seafood, fresh-baked items and locally sourced products.

The concept later expanded to Palisades Village in 2018 and has built a reputation for its wine program and California-inspired menu.

It is not yet clear when Porta Via will begin serving customers at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
