Hundreds Of Jobs Cut At 4 Tucson-Area Companies, WARN Notices Show

A total of 382 jobs may be cut at these companies with a footprint in Tucson, according to a state database.

TUCSON, AZ — Hundreds of layoffs may be coming at two companies with a footprint in the Tucson area, according to a state database.

A total of 382 jobs are on the line across four Arizona companies, according to the latest WARN Act notices filed with the state.

The notices involve VisionQuest National, a Tucson-based company that provides services to children, youth and families nationwide, and DLH Solutions, a national security contractor that made headlines earlier this year after losing a contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs.

According to the state database, here are the impacted workforce numbers and effective dates:

VisionQuest National, which is headquartered in Tucson, has the largest number of affected workers at 203. The company has not provided a reason for the layoffs.

Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona is closing its Community Living Program, a group home operation serving roughly 30 Tucson residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Tim Kromer, the organization's executive director of philanthropy, said stagnant federal funding is to blame, according to reports.

The program has not seen a funding increase since 2019, he said, even as operating costs have continued to climb, leaving it financially unviable.

WARN notices offer protection to workers, their families and communities by requiring employers to provide notice 60 days in advance of plant closings and mass layoffs.
