TUCSON, AZ — One of the most anticipated dining events is back, and this year it's bigger than ever.
Arizona Restaurant Week runs May 15 through 24, giving diners 10 days to explore more than 270 participating restaurants across the state.
The format is simple: choose a restaurant, order from a special three-course prix fixe menu and pay a set price of $33, $44 or $55 per person. Some restaurants offer those rates per couple instead.
No tickets are required, but reservations are strongly recommended as tables fill up fast.
The event isn't limited to the Tucson area. Restaurants from across Arizona are invited to participate, and organizers say they want to expand the event's reach to communities statewide.
A fall session is also on the calendar for Sept. 18 through 27 for anyone who can't make it this round.
With 65% of Arizona restaurants independently owned, Restaurant Week is also a chance to support local businesses heading into the slower summer months.
Breakfast and lunch options are available at some locations in addition to dinner. Diners can still order from the regular menu, but must order the prix fixe menu to receive the special pricing.
In Tucson, six restaurants are participating this year, spanning a range of cuisines and price points. More affordable options include Firebirds Wood Fired Grill and Terraza Restaurant at Hacienda del Sol Guest Ranch Resort, both at $44, while Sullivan's Steakhouse, RA Sushi Bar, La Luz and The Keg Steakhouse in Oro Valley round out the list at $55.
