TUCSON, AZ — Tucson's biggest fireworks show of the year is back, and the city has a full plan in place to handle the crowds.
Here's what to know before heading out to the 29th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Celebration.
When and Where
The fireworks launch from "A" Mountain/Sentinel Peak Park at 9 p.m. Saturday, July 4, weather permitting. The event is sponsored by the Desert Diamond Casino and Entertainment Group, an enterprise of the Tohono O'odham Nation.
Free Viewing and Parking
Tucson Convention Center Parking Lot B, accessible from Cushing Street and Granada Avenue, opens for free viewing at 7 p.m., with food trucks on site.
The City-State Garage at 498 W. Congress opens for free parking and viewing at 6 p.m. Tailgating, including grilling, cooking or alcohol consumption, isn't allowed in the City-State or TCC garages. TCC Lots A and C will be open for parking only.

Road Closures
Mission Road between Star Pass Boulevard and Congress Street, Bella Vista Road, and the eastbound and westbound I-10 frontage roads will all close around "A" Mountain. ParkTucson will post a parking map online and on its social media accounts ahead of the event.
Sentinel Peak Park and Road close at 6 p.m. Friday, July 3, and reopen Sunday, July 5, at sunrise for pedestrians and cyclists and 11 a.m. for vehicles.
Free Public Transit
Skip the parking hassle entirely. The Sun Link streetcar offers free rides to the TCC area at the Granada/Cushing Street stops and to the Mercado District at the Avenida del Convento/Congress Street and Cushing Street/Avenida del Convento stops.
Streetcar service runs on a normal Saturday schedule from 8 a.m. to midnight, and Sun Tran buses will also run their regular Saturday schedule.
Fire Safety
Tucson Fire Department and Tucson Water will soak vegetation on and around the mountain before the show and remain on site throughout to minimize fire risk. Tucson police will manage traffic and access at the base of "A" Mountain.
One More Thing
If you're watching from a park, open lot or the roadside, bring a garbage bag and plan to pack out your own trash, or use the containers provided where available.
