Cochise Rabies Cases: Two New Incidents Found

The new rabies cases follow reports of a rabid fox attacking three people in Pima County earlier this week.

TUCSON, AZ – Two new cases of rabies in Arizona. This time in Cochise County where the sheriff's office reports a skunk in Mescal and a grey fox in Dos Cabezas were found.

Both animals were caught after biting dogs.

The animals were sent to the state lab on Monday. In both cases, the animals tested positive.

The dogs had both received vaccinations earlier and are okay though they will both need booster shots.

On Tuesday, three people were attacked by a fox that was believed to be rabid in Saguaro National Park in Pima County.
