Council Clears McKale To Sell Beer, Wine During Basketball Games
In return for the liquor license, the university agrees to stop alcohol sales after the first timeout of the second half.

TUCSON, AZ – Basketball games at the McKale Center might be a little more fluid next season. The Tucson City Council granted the university a liquor license so the center can sell beer and wine during basketball games.
In return, the university promises to stop sales after the first time out of the second half.
The council voted 5-1 in favor of the license.

The Arizona State Liquor Board, which still has to give their approval, is expected to consider the license in the coming weeks.
The university already sells alcohol at baseball and hockey games. They have no plans to consider selling at football games.
