Horned-Owl Covered In Glue Treated At Tucson Wildlife Center

It took three baths to remove all of the glue, according to Tucson Wildlife Center.

TUCSON, AZ—An unlucky horned-owl in Tucson recently had a bad day after getting thick glue all over its wings, tail feathers and feet.

According to Tucson Wildlife Center, an owl became the unintended target of a glue trap, which is generally used to capture insects or small rodents. However, small birds, snakes lizards - and, yes, even owls - can become trapped in them, too.

The owl was recently brought to the wildlife hospital where staff members said she couldn't even open her talons because both feet were balled up in glue.

"Due to the amount of glue on her delicate feathers, the compassionate choice was made to sedate the owl to perform a proper cleaning," the wildlife center said on a Facebook post. "This helped keep the owl calm while our animal care team removed the excessive glue."

It took three baths to remove all of the glue, the wildlife center said.
