It's just going to be a bit smaller than originally planned.The foundation in charge of getting it built notified the Pima County Board of Supervisors on Thursday that because fundraising fell short, plans by the memorial are being scaled back.In a presentation labeled "50% Design Development Update," the board was told that $2.3 million had been raised.The goal had been $4 million.No public money is going to the memorial."The memorial is now being scaled to reflect available funds," they were told."Final design and construction of the memorial is scheduled to coincide with the opening of the UA Mineral Museum, no later January 2020."<a href="https://patch.com/arizona/tucson/visit-tucson-arizona-mineral-museum-get-new-homes" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Patch reported</a> on Tuesday that the museum had just signed a 15-year lease to go into the Old County Courthouse.The memorial, which will be in El Presidio Park, honors the six people who were killed and the 13 people who were injured when a gunman tried to assassinate Rep.
